7 Powerful Tips To Profitable Infoproduct Marketing
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Infoproducts (or information products) are today's hottest
commodities to sell over the Internet. And so it's no wonder
that hordes of people rush to scramble aboard this bandwagon
every single day.
As an infoproduct marketing competitor, you need to hone and
refine your skills at this challenging art so that you set
yourself apart from the crowds and reach out with laser-focused
precision to your target audience. These tips have worked well
for me - and I'm sure you can put them to great use too.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #1 - Overwhelm Your Customers
The world is trying hard to make you a commodity. An
undifferentiated provider who offers pretty much what everyone
else is doing. Another apple in the cart.
Do not succumb. Set yourself apart. Be different - by being
better.
Overwhelming your customers with value is the surest, safest,
simplest way to delight them, get referrals from happy buyers
and grow your business explosively - without spending a dime on
advertising.
You may overwhelm by delivering top quality content. Or you may
take fantastic care of your clients. Maybe you throw in some
extra gifts, bonuses and discounts to delight them. Whatever it
is, by taking that little extra step, you seal your position in
your prospect's mind - and over time that translates into more
profits.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #2 - Build Your Brand
An extension of the earlier point is to brand yourself (or your
business) so specifically that you own your niche.
Take my own niche as an example. 'Infopreneur' is a broad based
term that spans many forms of information - including
infoproduct marketing. Instead of competing in this crowded
marketplace, I chose to brand myself as the 'Internet
infopreneur' - creating a niche within the niche, one I can
dominate more easily and effectively.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #3 - Be Professional
Especially if you are marketing infoproducts on the Web, your
only point of contact with potential buyers is your website -
and maybe email.
Be professional in your approach and design. Treat your
infoproduct marketing the same way as Nike or Microsoft would
consider their own marketing - as something special, valuable,
worth investing time and effort into.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #4 - Use a 'Killer' Sales Process
Most infopreneurs create excellent infoproducts - but fall flat
on their face when it comes to marketing them. When you put
your heart and soul into creating your product, isn't that
strange?
Learn to sell. Or if you can't, find someone who is good at it.
Hire a great copywriter. Partner with excellent sales people.
Attract super-affiliate partners.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #5 - Talk About Benefits
It's easy to wax lyrical about what your infoproduct is about.
You could talk for an hour about how many pages are in it, how
many hours it took you to create, how lovely the pictures are,
and more.
But a potential buyer looking for your infoproduct is interested
only in one little thing: "What's in it for ME?"
Answer that question and your infoproduct marketing will
suddenly become explosively more powerful.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #6 - Cater To Different Needs
If your infoproduct marketing is limited to one channel, one
format, one medium, you're probably losing most of your
marketshare.
If you're selling infoproducts on your website, there is no
reason you cannot also run an ad in a local newspaper, or a
radio talkshow, or place flyers for it in your neighborhood
mall.
Do not limit your marketing efforts to one method. Try others.
Some will not work. A few will barely break even. But
occasionally you'll stumble across the one winner that'll pull
insanely - and make you a pot of cash.
Infoproduct Marketing Tip #7 - Be Persistent
Far too many infopreneurs look on infoproduct marketing as a
one-shot success story. Nothing could be further than the
truth. Good marketing involves a lot of testing and tweaking.
And that demands persistence. Experimentation. Studying.
Learn from other advertising. Read books about marketing.
Attend courses and seminars that teach you better ways to market
your infoproducts. Then put the lessons into action, track your
results and make modifications that keep steadily improving your
results.
In time, you'll have an infoproduct marketing process that is
successful - and very profitable.
