Step #9 - It's Showtime : Publishing Your First 'Killer' Ezine
At last - the moment you've been waiting for all along.
You've done the groundwork. You've created an awesome ezine, beautifully
formatted, rich in valuable, powerfully written content. You have an expectant
subscriber base ready and waiting for your first issue.
Go, give it to 'em. Wait !
Or perhaps not just yet. There are a few more things that go towards making
your ezine a supreme masterpiece. Remember, the devil is in the details.
Little drops make an ocean. Get the small issues right and the big ones will
fall into place.
1. Small details to make a big impact
As you'll learn with examples from Ezine Launch - Insider Tips, Tricks And
Secrets To Creating A Killer Ezine, here are some minor details that make
all the difference.
- Create a compelling SUBJECT line for your ezine (lesson 16.1)
- Make sure your ezine is free of spelling and grammatical mistakes by proof-reading
each issue (pg.126)
- Checking every link and email address can save you thousands of dollars
(lesson 16.6)
- Find the list distribution service that is most cost effective and best suited to
your business (lesson 9.2)
- Register on the service, define your list's options and insert the content
elements (lesson 12.1)
- If you do it yourself, take care to keep your list private and secure (lesson
9.1)
- Customize your list. Add unique identifiers to the SUBJECT. Restrict
access to archives or subscriber lists. And much moreÉ (lesson 12.2)
2. Do a final proof-reading
Send a copy of the final version to yourself by email. Review it critically one
last time for any small glitches.
- Are all the elements nicely formatted?
- Do any lines wrap awkwardly?
- Is the content tightly written, useful, entertaining?
- Are all the links clickable?
- Do they work correctly?
- Are the details about signing up and leaving your list included?
- Have you provided contact details for feedback?
- Is the file too large?
This is your last chance to catch and fix mistakes before others do. Watch
your creation like a hawk.
When you're happy, get ready and...
Now... PUBLISH
Submit the final draft of your ezine to the distribution program or your own
email client.
