A Pleasant Surprise...
For me... and for the kids with heart birth defects who benefit from funds raised by the Dr.Mani Children's Heart Foundation.
Last night, I was on 24-hour call in the ICU at the hospital, looking after the 2 little kids we had operated, when my phone rang. It was my wife.
"Are you where you can leap about screaming 'Yahooooo'?" she asked.
"No, why do you ask?"
"Because I just saw an email from John Reese, and he's sent you $2,500 to sponsor an operation"
I did it anyway - leaped about, shouting.
My nurses thought I'd lost it !
;-)
(It's all true, except for the shouting!)
So after a long time, the list of "Truly Purple" folks on the left upper corner of my "Remarkably Purple Spots..." blog has been updated to include a new name - the name of a remarkable, generous man named John Reese.
