Very soon - maybe by the end of this year, we'll have over ONE HUNDRED MILLION people on MySpace.com
With that kind of size, there's no doubt MySpace will impact the blogging environment, the same way eBay now impacts the online commercial marketplace.
How will MySpace culture affect the Net-culture we're getting used to? Will it become an 'exclusive club' or will it retain a friendly meeting place were pals exchange views over a beer or a bite to eat?
This has more than curiosity value to business bloggers - because MySpace.com blogging will take the impact of business blogs to an entirely new dimension, and put it in context of a completely new demographic - MySpace.com blogging enthusiasts.
If history is any indication, this will also lead to the inevitable scammers invading the Wild West of MySpace.com blogging - closely followed on their heels by the 'police' - Governmental regulation of what's for now a free for all community.
Networks built around bloggers are looser, less loyal, more scattered than those that are developing around MySpace.com blogging pioneers. How these networks will connect, coalesce and impact the online culture is an interesting trend to watch.
