Yanik's Underground Seminar - Remarkable Indeed!

Time Management & Home Business Optimization
One of the most important elements in getting your home business started is becoming disciplined about managing your time. Working from home, there are all manner of distractions. Prioritising tasks is the easiest way to make sure the most critical activities get done first.
By taking time in the evening to plan the next day's activities, the morning can begin productively. You know where you need to go, what you have to do, who you should call or write to, and what must get done during the day. Use the 20/80 rule -- 20 percent of your activity will be responsible for 80 percent of your income.
Schedule the activities you find most difficult or unpleasant to do as soon as you can and get them out of the way. Once you've finished something you don't like to do and get into the activities you enjoy, the day will seem much brighter and more productive. Try to out-source those things you don't do well, if possible, or find someone to help you. Working with a partner whose strengths are your weaknesses, makes sense. You'll accomplish much more than the two of you working separately.

The final suggestion is to use Google AdWords. Having targeted keywords and a good ad should attract some attention. Just don't end up paying too much for it.

Once your relationship with the different groups related to your home based business is strong enough, start leveraging it to increase your reach. A very effective way to do this is to ask for referrals.
There are many benefits to this approach which makes the process of establishing relationships with the new prospects easier:
- people are likely to refer people like themselves. And since you already are the kind of person they like, chances are the new prospects they refer will also like you!
- when your client refers someone to you, s/he's going to tell them how good you are - and that endorsement will overcome barriers in a potential client's mind, starting the relationship off on a positive note.
Indeed, referral based home business growth is one of the tenets my mentor Jay Abraham stresses very strongly - he even shared a special report with us revealing EIGHTY NINE different ways his clients have asked for referrals!
So get busy asking your network to help you!

So constantly work on building your network.
You have an incredible number of contacts you don't even realize. Your clients and subscribers are just one group.
Your suppliers, advertisers and business partners are others.
Your product fulfillment house, offline marketing teams, joint venture collaborators, competitors and agents are another.
People you meet in 'virtual space' on online discussion forums, chat groups, email lists and at seminars and workshops are yet one more.
As a smart home based business owner, you need to leverage this priceless asset - your network. Begin with collecting their names and contact details into a 'Rolodex' or contact list.
Then develop a 'system' to keep in touch with them regularly. It doesn't have to be anything formal. Just a quick email from time to time, a seasonal greeting card, a birthday wish, anything is fine.
Keep watching out for every opportunity to grow your network - and strengthen the bond with existing contacts. Very soon, you'll be part of a group who will be able to fulfill your every need - effortlessly.

Each day, you have a limited amount of time to spend on your business. Whether it's two hours, eight hours or ten, what you accomplish is directly linked to how you spend your time.
This may sound simple but it really works...
Today, before you end your work day, take five minutes to write a To Do List for tomorrow. Don't put more than five things on the list and be reasonable. Make them things you can reasonably accomplish during the time you have to get them done. And make them action oriented.
For example, your list might look like:
1. Add one page of content to yourdomain.com
2. Finish article about "....."
3. Submit article to at least three article directories.
4. Find one new affiliate product to promote.
5. Add one new autoresponder message that promotes the new
affiliate product.
Five action oriented tasks that can be accomplished in one day.
Your action-oriented To Do list is like a road map. It helps you focus on where you want to go and then tells you exactly what you need to do to get there.
When you get to work tomorrow, read the list and get started. Focus on the tasks on your list and do them... one at a time until you are done or you've run out of worktime.
Cross off each item as you finish it. If something is left at the end of the day, just add it to your list for the next day.
Your To Do list will keep you focused and tell you exactly what you need to do.
Just think how much you'll have accomplished when the five things on your list are done and you've moved on to the next five.

Tips to optimize your home based Internet business.
1. "Don't waste time". On the net, it's extremely easy to 'waste' hours away - browsing the net, forums, answering emails.
Start your day with a Master "To-Do" list. (Items listed in the order of priority)
Then sit down at your PC and do them. You will then have a sense of purpose, a 'mission' to complete.
2. "Get Started Now" Don‚t be afraid to try. If you‚ve an idea for a product, website, service, go for it discuss with a few close friends/peers and then go for it ˆ many people fail in their internet business because they‚re afraid to get started or that they wait for the correct moment or until they‚ve enough knowledge or skill.
Don't just get started and learn along the way.
3. "Cash Flow" - If you've just started out, don't give up your day job yet - it provides the necessary cash-flow (and PEACE of MIND) while you work on your online business. A mind at ease is a fruitful and productive mind.
4. "Be Focused". There are 1001 distractions on the net - new opportunities, new products, new strategies, etc Know what you want to do and focus on it like a laser beam. If you go chasing after every new thing, you'll just be spinning wheels and won't go anywhere.

On the face of it, this may not sound like a business optimization strategy. But it is specially relevant to Intenet home based business folks, because in most cases, you tend to think about selling online as involving digitally downloadable products.
Ebooks. Ecourses. Digital audio. Eseminars.
It is a form uniquely suited to the medium that's the Internet - and caters to the online shopper's mindset of 'Gimme NOW'
But it also allows room for optimization - by adding a physical component to the sale.
For one, including a physical product to your catalog raises perceived value. Imagine selling an ebook - and including a print version of it. Or selling an audio interview - and throwing in a printed transcript, or a copy burned on CD.
There are other benefits from going physical too
You get a legitimate reason to ask for your customer's shipping address - a valuable asset to have in your database
You get a chance to use the product delivery process to market a related backend product or service
Physical products add a barrier to pirating and illegal distribution
You are not limited by file size restrictions (huge files make for troublesome downloads) or regional problems caused by poor connectivity and bandwidth constraints of your clients
So think about it - and Go Physical!

Many who're just starting out working from home act like they are on a permanent vacation. After all, if you're still in the 9-5 mentality being at home is supposed to be relaxing.
So what happens? You check your email. You spend an hour cruising forums. You make an unnecessary phone call. You check your email again. You check the forums again. You think of something you wanted to look up, and suddenly you're aimlessly surfing the web. Then a friend drops by to visit, figuring that since you're home you're not doing anything.
If your day looks like that, it's time to re-prioritize. Check your email once in the morning, answer any that need to be answered and then close your email for an hour or two. If you feel a need to read or post on forums, set a time limit. Create a to-do list, and start working through it. Be firm with friends and family to let them know that you're working and not to be disturbed between certain hours.
In other words, treat your business like a business.
Many people follow all these rules but forget one of the most important ones: take breaks. That means not only taking daily and weekly breaks, but take regular vacations as well. You'll be much more creative and motivated when your batteries are recharged. Plus, you're less likely to fall victim to stress-related health problems.
Besides, isn't freedom from slaving away at work a glorious perk to running your own business?

"Finding the right domain name for your home business"
It should be something obvious. Getting a domain name that's easy to remember. Right on your target (market). Portraying the image you want.
However, look around and you'll it's not the case. It seems msny websites don't take the time to search and research domain names. Although you can register a domain name for up to 63 characters, it doesn't mean you have to create such a long domain name!
Unless you're using such domain names solely for SEO (that's another story), it's best to use shorter, preferably less than 20 characters, domain names. Although not absolutely necessary, it helps if you have relevant keyword(s) in your domain name. Using a free tool like DomainsBot would help.
The process of registering a new domain name may take you just a minute or two. However, it's important that you acquire the right domain for your home business. The price could be the same, maybe $10 for a new domain registration. But the VALUE could be quite different.
That'd mean the difference of a million-dollar domain or a $1 domain.

To read actively, you need to prepare a session of your
web surfing to pay more attention when you're reading.
Start surfing and reading things that catch and keep your
attention. Study and anaylyze the text. What words are being
used? What length are the sentences and paragraphs? What
is the tone of the message?
You want to read text from many different authors so you
get a variety to examples to follow. When you approach
reading actively for a while, you'll naturally begin to
write in a way which is more attractive to others but more
importantly, it's attractive to you.
If writing becomes easier for you, you will be apt to
write more. The more you write, the better you'll get.
Master the art of writing short and long copy and you'll
find that you'll be much more productive in other tasks

Ask yourself if you'd buy just the basic product if you were in your potential customers shoes.
Can you see real value in the basic product? If you wouldn't buy the product yourself, as a stand-alone product, then don't buy the reprint rights or license. It probably won't sell.

If you want to make your online business grow faster, make sure that every action you take serves at least two purposes from the following list:
1. Sell product
2. Generate subscribers
3. Recruit active affiliates
4. Generate targeted traffic
5. Generate links
6. Create product
7. Build my network
As an example, suppose you are arranging an affiliate-based endorsed mailing by a site owner or newsletter publisher. Rather than just giving them copy to mail (or letting them create their own), you might offer to do an interview with them that relates to the topic of your product.
They could offer the audio recording of that interview to their subscribers as a bonus for ordering your product, increasing profits for both of you. You both get to use the interview for other purposes, with the agreement that neither of you will give it away free.
If you plan these right, you can arrange a number of these interviews that cover all the major aspects of your topic using interviews with experts. This is a much easier deal to arrange than just asking someone to do an interview and spill their guts for nothing.
This shows real respect for their knowledge in addition to making them money, so it helps build the relationship with these individuals. That means a lot more in the long run than just saying, "Hey. I'll give you 50% to promote my stuff."
And, since the deal promotes them as much as you, it's much easier to get them to continue the offer indefinitely instead of stopping with a simple commission-based promotion.
So, with a process like this, you're looking to: drive targeted traffic, sell product, create product, build your personal network, recruit active affiliates and generate links. Plug a few places into the process where people who don't buy can sign up for your list, say through an affiliate-
branded mini-course that promotes your product, and you've got the Grand Slam.
Promoting your site with articles? Do a very in-depth version that will serve as a lead generating report or a chapter of a book. Then use a shorter version that still offers useful information as the submitted piece.
Want to get to know some of the players in a specific niche market? Create a product that includes them or points to their sites. Introduce yourself, give them a review copy to let them know what's being said, and take it from there.
Look at everything you do and see how you can connect at least two or more of the goals listed above into the process. Spend a half hour on that right now, and I'm sure you'll find lots of ways you can put this idea to work to increase your immediate profits and long-term growth.

Every single achievement that you have made in your life started with a thought. When you bought that new car, it started with a thought. When you got married it started with a thought. To achieve the goals that you are dreaming about first you need to be specific and know exactly what they are. Start off with what you want to achieve and then be specific on what needs to happen before you can achieve that.
To achieve the goals that you are dreaming about now you need to think of them as if you have already achieved them because I‚ve been told by many people that your mind cannot tell the difference between reality and a vividly imagined thought. So if you touch, smell, see your dreams as if they are reality then your mind will take the necessary steps to achieve those dreams.
My favourite saying is, "You Can if You Think you Can." Do you want to spend more time with your family? Do you want to do what you want to do when you want? Then think it, set those goals but most importantly „TAKE ACTION.‰ You will make mistakes but this is essential especially if you want to achieve your goals because nobody is perfect.
The best advice I can give you is-
1. Set your goals high. Real high.
2. Break those goals down to realistic, achievable chunks.
3. Take massive action immediately in regards to those goals.

The big question is how to set up a recurring billing system for your home based business on the Internet. It's really simple - if you know how to reposition your current product or service to take advantage of this optimization strategy.
You could
- offer access to private memberships and 'Insider' clubs
- sell subscriptions to a service or content on your website
- plan a sequence of products and services, each adding value
- give refills for what you've sold them before
- promote a line of related products and services
- sell updates, upgrades or new releases
- accept payment in installments for high ticket items
- offer ongoing training, coaching or mentorship

And that's of benefit to you and to your clients. It makes high ticket items available to them on easy installments, it takes the pain out of paying, and it allows them to enjoy ever increasing value from doing business with you.
So yes, you're actually doing them a favor!

Having a home based Internet business comes with some drawbacks. You can't use signage, banners, flyers, handouts, and most important, face-to-face 'personal' contact to build trust with your clients.
Using third part testimonials strategically placed over your website can compensate this deficiency to some extent.
So after you've collected testimonials from your users, clients, readers, buyers and subscribers, what do you do with them?
Here are some placement suggestions I've found work best on my site:
Near the top of any sales letter, just below the headline. At this point, it helps build instant credibility for the claim your headline makes.
Sprinkled through the sales copy, at strategic points where the content of the testimonial supports the statements being made in your sales letter.
Near the call to action - where the major purpose is to push the hesitating buyer 'over the edge' and make a buying committment then and there!
In the P.S. - that's to try and convince a wavering prospect to think about it again
On the order page, a carefully chosen testimonial can act to reinforce 'social proof' and lower the risk of an abandoned shopping cart
On the 'non-order' page, the one a prospect sees after deciding not to buy - where the use of powerful testimonials can actually force your visitor to reconsider the purchase decision
In emails and follow up communication, both to reinforce the value of the sale to buyers and to give the non-buyers a reason to buy
Needless to say, this list just scrapes the surface. There are many finer nuances to getting the most from testimonial power - but that's for another discussion, on another day!

How to build your subscriber list 23% faster
I was experimenting with my ezine subscription process recently and tried 2 consecutive tests. Now I hate experimenting with real people but you do have to analyse numbers as an internet marketer - whilst always trying to write to your subscribers as individuals.
My first experiment was to take away all the options from my sign-up page except the sign up form. I removed all links and all ads - even AdSense ads! - and instead simply explained what my newsletter was about.
Result: a 23% increase in my subscription rate per visitor.
My second experiment was to offer a valuable bonus to all subscribers but to state that it would be delivered by email. This reduced the number of false email addresses I received but it also increased my sign up rate even more.
Combining these two tests delivered the following benefits:
- Increased sign up rates: well over 23%
- Reduced email acquisition costs
- Enhanced goodwill in my list
- Increased affiliate income: the bonus included links to products that I sell
- A growing downstream of sub-affiliates because I get a second level commissions on this product too
There are 2 key lessons here:
1.Simple changes online can have a massive impact on your business

The 'Real' Key To Maximum Profits
How many times have you heard the phrase 'The money's in the list' or that 'Traffic is the lifeblood of your web site' or that 'JV's are important' - I'm guessing if you've read enough marketing books you'll have heard those things a hundred times.
Maybe you're doing all those things - and yes anyone of those statements has some truth. . . but there's an even bigger secret. One far more powerful than any of them or a hundred other snippets of advice you might read combined. It's one of the oldest secrets and it's something that has the power to unlock a life of incredible richness.
Right now you may disregard this advice but if, and hopefully when, you become truly successful as an online marketer you'll realize that what I'm telling you today was a fact.
"The money is in you"
The ability to create vast wealth is in you. . . . The power to do marvellous things is in you. But to access this power you first need to stop thinking about yourself.
Stop trying to get rich. Stop focussing on your problems - Focus on other peoples.
Sure the 'Money's in the list' but ultimately your success depends on the realisation that 'your list' is made up of living, breathing human beings, people that have ideas, dreams and needs just like you. People who have everyday problems that need to be solved.
And yes 'Traffic is the lifeblood of your web site' but 'traffic' isn't a thing - it's people searching for information, in need of help, in search of a solution.
It's true that JV's are important - but the people you go into business with also need solutions to their problems just like anyone else. A partnership is only good when all parties to it contribute equally.
Focus 100% of your attention on helping other people solve their problems and aiding them in the pursuit of their dreams. Understand that by providing solutions and offering assistance whenever and wherever you can and by simply being 'of value' to others then it will create value for you in return.
Treat people how you'd like to be treated, create products that you would be delighted to own and sell like you'd like to be sold to. It takes effort and it's impossible to get it right all the time - but trust me, while your focussing on the needs of others you'll become rich in the process and not just financially.

E-tools are also available that allow the home-based business person to produce business cases, models, etc., all useful in the initial planning phase.
Day-to-day execution of the business. All businesses need some means of...
- Tracking sales
- Tracking advertising and promotions
- Displaying product and providing shopping cart type facilities
- Making and receiving electronic payment for goods/services received
- Following up with prospects and clients
Preparation of reports, etc. for legal and other authorities: Examples include tax returns, bank papers, reports for the local township or city authorities, etc.

Here are three steps I recommend to help keep your Internet business simple ˆ and prosperous:
- Don't bite off more than you can chew. Trying to do too many things at once just complicates your life and compromises your efforts.
- Know each detail of your business inside and out ˆ which in my case was hard because I'm technically challenged!
- Treat your clients as if they‚re Santa Claus! If you're good ... you get Big rewards!

The secret is in buying books cheap enough to make a profit.
Used bookstores in my area are great for books in the $4-$5
range you can sell for $15-$20 each --if they are in good
condition. You can also get really great books at yard sales
for .50 to $2.00 that will easily sell for $10-$20 or more!
When you're selling used books, "condition" is everything.
Pay very close attention to the spine (that it's not bent,
cracked or separating from the book) and make sure there are
no pen or pencil marks in the book and very few 'dog-eared
pages', etc.
I also frequently visit used book sites online such as:
www.abebooks.com
www.biblio.com
It's not everyone's cup of tea... but if you love books as
much as my son does, it's 'found money'.

The Heart Kids Blog Marathon Kicks-Off - In 24 Hours!
Welcome to the THIRD Heart Kids Blogathon.
This is the special annual event where I stay up day and night for 24 hours, updating this blog every 30 minutes - in an effort to raise awareness and funds for children with heart birth defects.
It started in 2003, when I first got serious about blogging - and thought this was a cool way to raise awareness for something close to my heart. That year, with the support of some friends and colleagues, we raised a little over $10,000 to sponsor life-saving heart surgery for poor children.
The next year was better, with a wider reach of the message and more visitors coming to the blog to show their support for CHD Awareness. Financially, too, we did better, raising a little under $25,000
The happiest news I got all year came just a few weeks ago, when after an intricate and elaborate process involving tons of paperwork and formalities, we finally got permission from our Government to bring the funds raised during the event into the country to put to use soon.
This means that not one, not two, but at least TWELVE more children will now have a chance to receive surgery that will help them live!
And it was possible only because of the support of some amazing, generous, wonderful folks. People like you.
The news came as a shot in the arm, and I decided to set an 'audacious' goal for this year's Heart Kids Blogathon... to raise $100,000 in a day to sponsor 50 children.
With your support, I'm sure we will make it happen too. I've worked out 3 plans - click the pictures on the top of this page numbered 1, 2 and 3 for details.
From the pre-event publicity and promotion alone, we have already raised over $1,200 and the message has gone out to lists with a combined readership of over 250,000 subscribers. Hopefully, great things will happen in the 24 hours ahead.

We're still little boys at heart!
Yesterday evening, I got my package from Yanik Silver - all 11 lbs of it!
I eagerly unwrapped it, as my little girl (she's 7) sat eagerly beside me, watching.
It's hard to say which of us was more excited when we saw the silver briefcase with the lettering on it saying:
Y.S.S. - Yanik Secret Service
This was a combination of the 'Thud' factor (the noise your parcel makes when it hits the ground) and the 'Wow' factor (that makes your jaw drop at first sight!)
But the outside was nothing compared to what's INSIDE!
I've only listened to 2 CD's and read one transcript - and already have 7 pages of notes, a fully drafted out plan for a portal, 2 new domain names registered and already implemented 3 of the viral marketing ideas I learned from it!
Awesome stuff... REALLY awesome.
I don't know if there are any more sets left (Yanik was limiting the total to around 750, my number was 368 - and I bought it PRE-launch!) - but if there are, you may want to pick up one...
