An Earthquake & Tsunami - In Your Mind!

Thought I'd share a special edition of my newsletter, Reach & Relate, which I just sent out today.

If you'd like your own subscription, get it from here:
http://www.Reach-n-Relate.com/ezine/

= = = = = =

A Special New Year Eve Message Guaranteed To Create Upheavals Inside Your Mind - With HUGE, Positive & Profitable Results!

Many readers saw the news stories of the deadly tsunami (tidal
wave) which wrought havoc in my part of the world, and wrote
to ask if I'm ok.

I am - physically.

Emotionally, I'm torn. The sheer scale of the disaster is
mind-boggling. Seeing the pictures on TV of the kids,
men and women - innocent victims of a sudden, swift
mood-change of Nature - is numbing.

I'm coping - but it is really really bad.

I hope something can be salvaged from the mess. I've written to
my friend, who is a senior administrative official in our Federal
Government, to ask if there's some way we can orchestrate a campaign
to ensure such a failure in communication and lack of an early
warning system can be fixed.

In today's world of near-instant communication, I can't help but
believe the 90 minute delay between the time we first felt the
tremors, and when the actually tsunami hit, could have been used
more effectively to evacuate at least a few hundred (or thousand)
sea-shore dwelling fisher-folk.

All we can do for the moment is pray. Pray that the toll won't
increase. Pray we don't have any more of these disasters. Pray
for the families of those who were harmed most by the quake.

There's a lesson or two in every disaster - man-made or natural.
I've been reminded, once again, of the most precious gift of all
that we possess, you and I... Our LIFE.

Look, in living memory a tidal wave has NEVER hit Southern India.
It is nowhere near any known earthquake prone areas. Yet, in a
few scary unanticipated moments, over 2,000 lives were snuffed out
in a freak of Nature.

It could happen ANYWHERE. Even near you.

It could happen ANYTIME. Even tomorrow.

Isn't that scary? It doesn't have to be - if you look on it with
the right attitude.

Because, another lesson is the startling clearness with which we all
need to realize that nothing is guaranteed or vouchsafed to us -
including our tomorrows.

All we have for sure is TODAY.

Let's make the best of it - NOW.

* Do something you've always wanted to.
* Tell someone special that you love them.
* Go somewhere you've planned to for long.

Dream BIG. And then follow your dreams. Do what it takes to go
after them. And...

Do it today. Now!

After all, tomorrow may be too late...

- If this letter helps even 1 of my readers look at what you have
with different eyes...

- If it helps you paint your life with bigger, wider, more colorful
brush-strokes...

- If it gets you out of a rut, exploring and creating masterpieces
that have been lying hidden inside you...

- If it stops you from whining and complaining about the LITTLE
stuff... and gives you the freedom to ignite the spark of
greatness lying dormant inside every one of us...

Then maybe - just maybe - some good will have come
from this disaster.

I'll end this letter with a quote from one of the biggest heroes
of India's struggle for freedom in the mid-1900's, Netaji Subash
Chandra Bose. He said:

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may never come.
Today is yours. Act... act... ACT

I wish you and yours a happy, prosperous, joy-filled New Year
ahead. May 2005 be the year every single one of your dreams
come true.

And don't forget... Dream BIG!

All success

Blogs, RSS feeds & Profits

Welcome to another edition of 'Reach & Relate' - and it's a
content-loaded, juicy one again... about RSS

Yes, again!

Why?

Because RSS is H-O-T. Go to www.Nichebot.com and see -
over 10,000 searches A DAY are on RSS.

Not surprising at all. It is one of the biggest
revolutions I've watched on the Net - and certainly
one of the most powerful.

I've already written to you about RSS - in a series of 5
emails a few weeks back. But since then, I've come across
an array of excellent articles, tutorials and descriptions
about RSS - and want to share them with you.

But before I do, I want to tell you 2 more things:

* In case you missed yesterday's SECOND email about
the 'Grinch Package', you'll be losing out on a great
deal. Check it out right now... the price is steadily
going up!

http://www.reach-n-relate.com/grinch.html

* There's a special deal for you in this issue.
A "5-for-2" offer on my RSS book - yes, you can get
FIVE copies for the price of just 2. Details below.
Don't miss it!

On with the RSS stuff...

#1 - Neil Shearing's article "RSS in a Nutshell"

http://www.scamfreezone.com/rssinfo/

It is a really simple, non-geeky explanation of the
technology, it's power and potential applications - with
a simple self-evaluation checklist to see if it's right
... FOR YOU!

Neil has mentioned my 2 blog & RSS related ebooks in
his short status report. Study his write-up for a lesson
in effective affiliate marketing too. The in-context
endorsements are what make him a SUPER affiliate par
excellence!

#2 - My own write up on "What is RSS"

http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/what-is-rss.htm

I have updated this section since last telling you
about it, and now have a link to a 3-part description
plus another to Andy Henry's blog - PheedCentral.com -
where he plans to review a series of RSS and blog
related stuff. Sounds interesting... bookmark it for
reference.

#3 - A report - "Marketer's Introduction to RSS
Content Delivery Power" by Ron Hrastnik

http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/rss-feeds-report.htm

It's a nice introduction to RSS from a marketer's
and e-publisher's viewpoint, and makes a strong case
for everyone in this arena to move to embracing RSS.

And that's just for starters :)

Read ALL of this stuff, because if you don't get up
to speed on RSS, you're going to be left in the dust
as your competition races past!

*** RSS TOOLS - PRODUCTS, REVIEWS, RESOURCES...

Now let's take a look at some exciting products on
RSS which have launched in the last 2 weeks - including
my own ebook, "How To Profit From RSS Feeds".... before
going on to TWO brand new articles I've written about
RSS marketing

I did say this was a juicy, content LOADED issue! ;)

3 top affiliate marketers wrote about RSS this week.

-> Neil Shearing's report is the one I mentioned before.

http://www.scamfreezone.com/rssinfo/

-> Phil Wiley wrote about it here:

http://www.ozemedia.com/cgi-bin/webbbs/webbbs_config.pl?read=23077

Phil says:

" I've read several books on RSS, but because most
of them are too technical or too long (who wants to read 100
pages on RSS? Not me!) I'd just like to mention two of
them here, Adrian Ling's, and Dr Mani's.

I've picked out these two because they're both short and
they both offer something completely different.

Dr Mani's, in particular, had me buzzing with ideas because
it shows you many ways of using RSS to further your
business.
"

-> Allan Gardyne devoted an issue of his ezine to it:

http://AssociatePrograms.com/search/newsletter.shtml

(the issue isn't yet up, it's #251 - but sign up to Allan's
list if you'd like to learn about affiliate marketing... it's
one of the few I've been subscribed to since 1996)

Allan wrote:

"If you want to discover more about blogs and RSS, you'll find
Dr.Mani's "How to Profit From RSS Feeds" fascinating. He's come
up with an astounding 43 different strategies.
"

They also reviewed a number of OTHER RSS products... here's a short
list of the ones I think are good too:

* RSS Made Easy by Adrian Ling
http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/adrian.htm

* RSS Responder by Andy Peacock
http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/andy.htm

* Marketing With RSS Feeds Made Easy by Tinu Abayomi-Paul
http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/tinu.htm

* RSS Equalizer by Jeff Alderson
http://www.EzineMarketingCenter.com/rssequalizer/

* RSS Express by Satyajeet
http://www.EzineMarketingCenter.com/rssexpress/

As an indicator of just how quickly folks are hopping on board
the RSS bandwagon and learning all they can about it, here are
some stats:

- My ebook launched on 13th November. It has sold 88 copies
in just under a month

- 12 buyers upgraded to the PREMIUM subscription - because
they wanted MORE VALUE from the 43 powerful ideas I share in
the book!

http://www.RSS-Marketing.com/advanced.htm

- My Google Adwords campaigns are getting CTRs of 2.5% -
and I'm not even an expert at writing Google ads! That's
how hot the entire RSS thing is!

- The latest product I created using RSS feeds as a part
of the content management sold out in under 2 weeks - all
50 limited copies were snapped up... at $497 a pack!

- I've already finished TWO more products based on RSS...
they are *that* easy to use - once you know how

- A friend of mine has a line of scripts and tools related
to RSS - and is launching one almost every week!

= = = = = = S P E C I A L O F F E R = = = = = =

You did know this was coming, didn't you?!

As a special gift for Christmas, I'm doing a
FIVE-FOR-THE-PRICE-OF-TWO promotion on my book
"How To Profit From RSS Feeds" - only for my list

You, my valued subscriber, can grab a set of FIVE
copies - for just $74

Or get an even better deal - and order TEN for the
price of 3... yes, only $111

"info@ezinemarketingcenter.com"

And mention you are sending the payment for the RSS
Profits Special Offer. I'll send you details soon.

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH 10 COPIES...

1. Gift them to your friends and clients for Christmas
2. Run a raffle for your list - and use them as a prize
3. Use them as a bonus for customers ordering your products
4. Offer them in return for referrals to your business
5. Make them hooks for drawing new subscribers to your list
6. Sell them for quick profits
7. Exchange them for an ad on someone's ezine
8. Barter them for another product or service you need
9. Run a 'closed' auction to your client list
10. Pay your employees or hires with them in lieu of cash

Let your imagination run wild - but first, lock in your
pack of 5 or 10 copies now. I may pull the plug on this
special offer at any time - with no warning at all!

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

And now, for the articles about RSS. There are 2 of them I wrote
recently. One is about using RSS feeds in your marketing campaigns.
The other is on naming them smartly to rank high on search results.

Both are free to reprint, so please go ahead and use them in your
ezine, on your website or anywhere else you like. The only thing
I insist upon is keeping my copyright information and the resource
box at the bottom of each article intact. You may however replace
the link to my ebook with your own affiliate link, if you wish :)

How To Use RSS Feeds In Your Marketing

by Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian, RSS-Marketing.com

<-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <->

It was Friday night. I finished reading a book about RSS feeds.
Quickly set up one for my site, submitted it on directories and
went to bed.

Sunday morning, I noticed a sale. Idly, I scanned my logs to see
where the buyer had found me.

It was from Yahoo! Now that may not seem surprising, except...
I had not been listed in Yahoo! before.

Curious, I did a Yahoo! Search for my domain name... and almost
fainted in shock! There were 123 of my pages listed - many of
them in the top 10 ranks on my best keywords.

My RSS feed had been listed within 48 hours - and since my other
pages were linked from it, they had all been indexed by Yahoo!
just as quickly. And for free!

Since then I have heard many others share similar experiences.
It is no fluke. RSS is H-O-T. And search engines LOVE it.

So what is RSS? An acronym for Really Simple Syndication, it
is a web language format designed to help syndicate content
across different sources.

RSS has been around for more than 10 years but has only recently
become popular. RSS feeds provide headlines and summaries of
information in a concise and standardized way.

The rise in RSS popularity, specially among marketers, has many
reasons. Email filters and new legislation have lowered the
effectiveness of email marketing. Content syndication in many
different ways is gathering momentum. And fresh, frequently
updated content is the very essence of the Web.

How can you use RSS feeds in your marketing? Is there a way
to turn RSS feeds into profits?

Absolutely. Here are some ideas:

1. Beat email filters. Ask your subscribers, prospects and
clients to sign up to your RSS feed along with your email
newsletter. If the ezine gets blocked, they'll still get
your RSS feed.

(Hint: Have YOU signed up to my Klip here?

http://www.EzineMarketingCenter.com/klip/

2. Spread the word. Offer your new, valuable content to
many other 'lazy' website owners - in return for getting
extra exposure of your name and brand to their audiences.

3. Get listed on search engines. No one knows how long
this 'honeymoon' will last. But ride the wave - and get
into search engines quickly, inexpensively - by submitting
your RSS feeds to them.

4. Use the first-mover advantage. Dedicated RSS directories
are mushrooming. Make sure your RSS feed is indexed in them
and you could future-proof your business. Imagine if you
were one of the first sites to be indexed in Google or Yahoo
5 years ago!

5. Offer your readers new content. Keep creating your
own content - but also use RSS feed syndication to offer
other people's content to your list. Less pain, less
strain, more gain.

And that's not all. On a bet, I sat down and listed 41
different ideas to profit from RSS feeds. I'm sure you
can do it too - and turn the hot new revolution in online
communication into a money magnet for your ebusiness.

Happy blogging.

How To Name Your RSS Feed - The 5-Step Formula To Get A
Flood of Targeted Traffic to Your Website

by Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian, RSS-Marketing.com

<-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <-> * <->

The most savvy webmasters are taking advantage of the hottest trend
in online marketing today - RSS feeds. Many are driving tons of
traffic to their website using RSS feeds.

And guess what? They are getting highly targeted visitors, people
more likely to be responsive, and to buy their products or services
on offer. Best of all, they are getting this traffic for free!

How? By tapping into the amazing power of RSS feeds. And the good
news is-

You can do it too.

Here's the 5-step formula to take advantage of the soaring popularity
of RSS feeds. It all begins with a name. The name of your RSS feed.

"But what's in a name?"

Apparently, everything. You see, most RSS feed specific search
engines and directories are rating submissions on 3 criteria -
and one of them is the title and description of your RSS feeds.
Step by step, here's how to optimize your own RSS feeds' chances
of ranking high.

1 - Study your demand

Your RSS feed will be built around a theme. Using a keyword analysis
tool like Good Keywords, Word Tracker or Nichebot, see how popular
the major keywords on your chosen theme are. If only a few hundred
people are looking for your keyword, naming your RSS feed with it
won't help you get a lot of traffic.

2 - Research your competition

If you've found a keyword with thousands of daily searches, you're
only halfway through. With too much competition, the slice of the
cake you'll get could be very tiny! Ideally, your keyword will
have many searches, but little competition. With some persistence,
you can usually find a few like this, maybe even many.

3 - Choose your title

After selecting your best keyword, name your RSS feed with this
keyword in it. If you can make it sound reasonable, you could
even use your keyword twice, or weave in your second choice keyword
as well. For example, a title for the keyword "blog profits" could
be "Blog Profits - Profits from your blog".

4 - Craft your description

Your description reinforces the keywords in your title, and is also
a compelling ad inviting the reader to click through to visit your
RSS feed. With some skill and practice, you can hit upon a
description that highlights your biggest benefit - and includes
your keywords too.

5 - Enjoy your success

If you follow these steps in naming your RSS feed before submitting
it to RSS feed search engines and directories, you will almost
certainly get ranked high - and drive a surge of traffic to your
site. Within 40 days of creating my latest RSS feed, I am
averaging over 300 views a day - for free... and with little
if any ongoing promotion!

That's the power in a name... the name of your RSS feed.
