Pass It Along...

You’ll Be Stunned (I Was)!

I posted this tweet on Twitter:

"Wow! Today's rudimentary marketing alone boosted page
views by FIFTY percent to my Think, Write, Retire blog!"

I'm going to share that 'rudimentary marketing' step I
took which brought in the extra visitors.

"Think, Write and Retire" is the title of my new book.

On the companion blog, I share portions of the book on
a regular basis. The blog is quite popular with many
infopreneurs and gets 90 to 100 unique visitors daily.

On one day, traffic spiked at 172 unique visits. Some
of them were my own. But at least 50 extra ones were
from other places.

What brought them in?

A simple, quick, often overlooked activity that I
first learned from Sean Wu in 2006 - and now takes
me just FIVE minutes per page to get done!

   It's called "Tag and Ping"

I 'pinged' all notification services about my blog.
Two good sites to simplify this are:

 * Pingomatic - www.Pingomatic.com
 * King Ping - www.Kping.com

I 'tagged' my blog on social bookmarking sites like
Del.icio.us, BlinkList and many more. To speed up
this, I use a service called

 * ONLYWIRE - www.Onlywire.com

The sequence goes like this:

 - Open the blog post in a new window
 - Copy the URL, paste it into the pinging service
 - Click the Onlywire bookmarklet to tag it

Rinse and repeat for as many pages on your blog as
you like :)

That's all!

Does that really WORK?

Well, I got a 70% bump in traffic yesterday. THAT'S
real.

Why am I not selling this information?

Good question. Should I, d'you think? Hmm... :-)

Anyway, go drive some extra traffic to YOUR blog!
